Global Consumer Technical Insights Scientist
Salary: Starting from £26,091 (negotiable dependent on experience) plus bonus and other excellent benefits
Location: Birstall, Leeds

Consumer Technical Insights (CTI) are the voice of our pets and pet parents, guiding the Care & Treats category to deliver outstanding products and stories. Your role will be to bring the consumer to the heart of everything we do, be curious about people to build deep fundamental understanding and find new ways to tell the story of the C&T science that goes into making a better world for pets.

You’ll be a key part of the Care & Treats CTI team, championing the consumer across the whole Care & Treats R&D Global Innovation Centre (GIC). You’ll work closely with R&D partners in the GIC to inspire and design solutions for our innovation pipeline and long-term fundamental projects. You’ll also be a key partner to our European and North American CTI associates, making sure our global projects are joined-up and delight pets and pet parents across the world.

What are we looking for?

·  You’ll have a university degree in science, engineering or ideally psychology, food / sensory science.
·  You’ll have excellent interpersonal skills; you’ll love building relationships and be brilliant at communicating your thoughts and ideas
·  You’ll be well-versed in MS Office applications and have a strong command of English (verbally and written).
·  This is a graduate role and no formal experience is required, but some experience in a relevant FMCG environment would be very welcome.
·  Experience in a range of research methods, including sensory evaluation, and ability to translate findings into actionable insights would be helpful, but is not essential.

What would be your key responsibilities?

·  You’ll be responsible for delivering pet and pet parent insights to support our global innovation pipeline, working closely with CTI mentors and technical project leaders.
·  You’ll help to grow Care & Treats CTI by supporting fundamental understanding projects and experimenting with new methodologies.
·  You’ll help to build our story telling capability, translating our science into compelling stories and demonstrations.
