Position Title: Quality Lead

Reports To: External Manufacturing Quality and Food Safety Manager

Purpose of Role:

The Quality Lead assists the External Manufacturing Quality Manager and provides assistance to all external manufacturing functions to ensure continuous compliance with quality standards and EM requirements.

·  Principal Accountabilities:

Carry out QFS and RD conformance record reviews to ensure product compliance with release criteria.

·  Effectively communicate and manage EMQM holds, and product non-conformances
·  Drives efficiency with consumer contact reporting by keeping track of CCI’s, following up with EM’s on status, closure, and reporting back to BU.

Maintains EMPRA’s, and all Technical Specifications, EMQM audits, Capas for the EMQM team to include schedules for reviews, updates.

Is responsible to post the above documents to relevant locations. (sharepoint).

·  Supports team with EMQM scheduling/ calendar, maintains corrective actions from audits, and  CAPA effectiveness verification for each EM, T5’s for external suppliers as needed with any global standard updates.

Maintains quarterly global metric reporting to EMQM sharepoint site.

Updates BU on status of EM metrics per quarter.

Responsible for communicating and elevating any quality and food safety concerns to EM QFS Manager

This position and all associates are responsible for quality and food safety.

 Other similar duties as assigned

Key Functional Skills/Knowledge

Strong oral, listening, and written communication skills in order to communicate with all levels of the organization

Strong project management and planning skills with proven ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously.

Strong interpersonal communication and leadership skills, and the ability to effectively negotiate, influence, and persuade.

 Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.

 Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, and motivate.

Ability to work independently without supervision as well as within a team setting.

Ability to work different schedules as needed for testing and projects.

Ability to travel 10%

Desired Education/Preferred Qualifications

 High school diploma or equivalent plus 2-3 years’ work or military experience (manufacturing environment preferred).

 Working knowledge of Food Safety, Regulatory, and Good Manufacturing Practices.

Working knowledge of processes and packaging of pet food products.

Proficient and demonstrated skills in Sharepoint.

 Ability and aptitude to work in an R&D, Manufacturing, and/or Distribution environment

Strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP's), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point Systems (HACCP), ISO, Regulatory Guidelines, and/or Microbiology

 Proficient math, reading, and writing skills

 Knowledge of the Windows working environment including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
