Royal Canin Applied Algorithm Food Science Expert M/F

Location: Royal Canin Global Headquarters, Montpellier area, France

Type of contract: permanent (CDI)

Salary package: 70 to 90k€ per annum

Context

As a Food Science Expert, you will bring your knowledge and expertise to the development of the R&D portfolio of Scientific Algorithms. From the design phase, through development and on through continuous improvement working in close collaboration with your team and the wider business.

In line with our Vision 2025, your position will be instrumental in creating new businesses through the management of a strategic portfolio of scientific algorithms with the ambition of being the Reference in Health Nutrition for cats and dogs. That means that this Food Science Expert will fully support our strategy creating a competitive advantage as a foundation for our services .

The Food Science Expert is the internal reference that ensures a consistent approach to our Food Science philosophy and Applied Algorithms.

Key Responsibilities

Food Scientific Expert

Thanks to your skills and experience in Food science, Formulation ,Nutrition and Product Design, , you have a transversal overview and will be the scientific expert who will lead the global consistency of our algorithms.

Lead of R&D Applied Algorithms Portfolio

Building on your expertise and experience and depending on Business needs, you will be responsible for :

• Creating the rules for Applied Algorithms leading to products in support of our formula portfolio consistent with our nutritional philosophy and in close collaboration with the Nutritionist setting the nutritional rules.

• Building a consistent portfolio of applied algorithms brick by brick, in an agile way and with a transversal overview.

• Helping the Business identify new opportunities.

• Keeping the Nutrition Sciences at the Heart of each project.

Disseminate Culture and Mindset

As Algorithm is a brand new domain for Royal Canin Associates, you will be in charge of disseminating this culture to associates in order to leverage them in this new area

Create and Develop a supplier Ecosystem

You will be in charge to create, work and develop an Ecosystem of external partners (e.g. specialized mathematical modeling) in order to ensure excellence in our portfolio of algorithms.

Profile

Education & Professional Qualification

You are Food /Agronomy engineer or scientist (agriculture), ideally you have already worked in the Pet Food industry and you master the basics of new technologies linked to Data /Statistics.

Knowledge/Experience

You have 3+ years experience in the Food Industry (animal nutrition, feed/petfood formulation and nutritional content of raw materials).

You speak English fluently and are motivated by collaborative work in an international environment.

Knowledge of statistics and agile methods is a plus.
