Qualifications :

We are offering a great opportunity for a 12 month operations internship (starting in summer 2018) rotating across three departments which may include any of the following Food & Beverage, Front Office, Leisure Reception and Conference & Banqueting.

Food & Beverage
Your role as an F&B Associate will consist of serving guests with a high level of customer service, ensuring you have a full product knowledge of menu items in order to provide the guest with recommendations if needed. You will be promoting both food and beverages in order to increase sales and upsell products throughout the F&B outlets. Being a front of house associate a main part of the role will be to clear and lay tables throughout and after service whilst ensuring that the still room and service areas are clean and tidy at all times. You will be expected to deal with guest queries and complaints and will be asked that these are resolved as timely as possible. An aspect of the role will be to communicate effectively with the variety of departments across the hotel in order to meet all of the guests needs as effectively as possible.

Front Office
Your role as a Front Office Associate you will be expected to supply the highest possible level of customer care and service whether in the public eye or in the Heart of the House, liaise with housekeeping for the daily allocation of rooms. You will be an informative member of the team educating guests on knowledge of hotel rates and special rates and the hotels facilities an grounds. You will learn how to understand the correct reservation procedures and to take any reservations in the absence of the reservation's agent. You will be operating the telephone and using the Fidelio and Micros systems. As a Front Office Associate you will be responsible for all payment transactions on the shift and to report any discrepancies. All Marriott policies on cash, key and all Controls are adhered to and followed consistently.

Leisure Reception
As a Leisure Receptionist your role will consist of ensuring that all Leisure Club and brand standards are maintained at the highest level at all times, all member and guest concerns and requests are resolved promptly and properly, members of the leisure club are registered and their special requests met wherever possible. You will be required to learn and understand the correct membership and Leisure Club procedures whilst complying with cash handling procedures. You are exacted to understand how the hotel Health and Safety Policy affects your department and how it links with the rest of the hotel, complete daily checklist tasks as set out by department manager/supervisor. You will need to provide information to members/guests about leisure facilities including hours of opening, type and location of facilities. Throughout this role you will learn and be capable of dealing with messages and enquiries when required, in an efficient and professional manner both over the telephone and directly from members/guests of the leisure club

Conference & Banqueting Associate
As a C&B Associate you will be expected to ensure that you have a full product knowledge of all menu items and their service to ensure customer satisfaction, maintain a high standard of service within conference events at all times as laid down within the company service standards. A main focus will be to promote sales and achieve maximum sales potential for both food and beverages, clear and lay tables throughout and after service. Ensure that the still room and service areas are clean and tidy at all times. You will be asked to deal with customer queries and try to resolve immediately if they are to arise and make full use of the guest response procedures.
