The impact you\u2019ll make When a golfer walks onto the first tee \u2013 imagine that first look they take ready to set up a shot on a perfectly cut tee. Followed by that sigh of relief as their ball flows straight down the immaculate fairway, avoiding the perfectly raked bunker and landing on an outstanding putting surface. What you\u2019ll do You will work alongside a team of Greenkeepers with many years of experience in varied roles within the Greenkeeping Industry, initially working on basic Greenkeeping duties and then being introduced to all golf course equipment and machinery, learning skills such as Preparing the golf course for play to the highest standards Spraying and disease control Construction, aeration, drainage and turfing works Learn to operate a wide range of golf course machinery Have knowledge of and adhere to health and safety regulations and procedures Work alongside a mentor within the department, to learn a variety of skills As well as on the job training, your Level 2 certificate in Golf Greenkeeping will be completed through Myerscough College over a 24 month period and includes time spent at the beginning of the programme completing your enrolment & initial functional skills assessments, as well as an End point assessment to complete your training and gain your qualification. A qualified Greenkeeping Assessor will visit you in the workplace every four to eight weeks. You will also receive membership to BIGGA for the duration of your training.
