MAJOR FUNCTION:

The Restaurant General Managers main function is to promote and ensure guest satisfaction. Achieving this through his/her ability to develop and maintain a strong team environment, placing more of an emphasis on associate satisfaction, Guest Survey Summary and delivery of prompt, courteous, and correct service. Oversees the overall operation of the Restaurant / Lounge / AM and PM Room Service/Aqua and Greatroom. Service to ensure profitability objectives are met. Responsibilities include but not limited to, hiring, training, supervising and counseling restaurant, room service and lounge associates. Maintain all quality operation standards to achieve a high level of guest satisfaction.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Actively support the Theme experience

2. Company Philosophy Demonstrate knowledge of Meyer Jabaras Journey structure, its practices, culture, terminology, organizational and general structure.

2. Assist in identifying and implementing a successful marketing plan for assigned outlets.

3. Assume responsibility of daily operation of all assigned outlets.

4. Assist in working toward positive financial results through effective use of forecast data, proper scheduling and responding to purchasing and requisition procedures, cash and credit policies and overall follow-up to issues that affect profit or loss.

5. Ensuring that scheduling functions are performed accurately and on a timely basis.

6. Assist in maintaining a highly motivated and well-trained staff.

7. Demonstrate strong working knowledge of the department procedures.

8. Portray a professional manner with regards to appearance, behavior, ethics, and compliance with policy.

9. Promote effective people / supervisory skills by creating a positive and productive work environment.

10. Develop associates for future promotion within the Meyer Jabara Family.

11. Aid the Restaurant in completing month end inventories and menu abstracting.

12. Preparing the monthly P&L Critique.

SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES:

1. OPERATIONS

a. Open and close shift in accordance with manager's checklist.

b. Initiate aggressive guest interaction through seeking and soliciting feedback from guests.

c. Train, maintain and enforce all Marriott Providence service standards.

d. Properly execute revenue and check control procedures on shift.

e. Handle daily associate relations (e.g., scheduling, time adjustments).

f. Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment for all associates and guests.

g. Gather and implement all proper tools for running shift, (e.g., schedules, floor plans, reservations, checks).

h. Find solutions for problems such as call outs, last minute bookings or any other daily problems that may arise.

i. During shift, ensure that guests are satisfied by assisting with serving, seating, and communication with kitchen and by striving to speak to all guests.

j. Be on the floor during entire meal period and ensure adequate coverage.

k. Conduct taste panels and menu classes on a daily basis for restaurant.

L. Ensure that only a quality product is being served.

m. Monitor hours and staffing on a daily basis with accurate scheduling based on forecast and budget guidelines.

n. Ensure all side work is done on a daily basis.

o. Maintain proper associate uniform standards.

p. Manage an effective repair and maintenance program through the use of quest ware, inspections, etc.

q. Assist any associate in his/her job performance, when required, to ensure guest satisfaction.

r. Understand and teach empowerment principles to ensure guest satisfaction.

s. Exercise station rotation to ensure stations are distributed fairly.

ASSOCIATE SERVICES

·  Implement an effective training program for new and current associates using use records, menus and appropriate reference manuals.
·  Encourage problem solving by associates through proper training and
·  empowerment.
·  Establish effective, but fair communication with associates to gain their trust and respect.
·  Maintain fair and consistent counseling and/or disciplinary procedures in
·  accordance with Marriott's Guarantee of Fair Treatment policy and Meyer Jabara Handbook Policys .
·  Attend restaurant associate meetings.
·  Attend staff and operational meetings monthly.
·  Demonstrate positive inter-departmental relations.
ADMINISTRATIVE

·  Communicate directly, and/or through the use of the logbook, to next shift supervisor.
·  Communicate through e-mail to GM daily, summarizing shift.
·  Identify and recommend incentive programs, new ideas and methods of
·  operation monthly and/or quarterly.
MARKETING

·  Implement and follow through on all bookings of restaurant parties and room service hospitality suites and effectively communicate to all managers.

PROFILE OF QUALIFICATIONS:

·  Minimum of two years food service or related hospitality management experience.
·  Written/verbal communication skills
·  Demonstrated leadership qualities.
·  Able to work with teams.
·  Basic technical knowledge of restaurant operations
·  Demonstrated hospitality skills.
·  Demonstrated strong work ethic.
·  Highly Motivated.
