The Engineering Supervisor oversees the day to day engineering operations in an upscale hotel environment when the Chief Engineer is not available. This includes but is not limited to project management, general life safety, engineering staff supervision, scheduling, and ordering, working with vendors and when needed serves is the main engineering point of contact. Responsible for completing preventative maintenance and repairs through-out the hotel guestrooms, public spaces, equipment, buildings & grounds. Also serves as Duty Engineer.
Supervises Grand Performers with-in the Engineering Department and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may also include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Essential Duties / Tasks / Responsibilities: Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1.Monitors and maintains the physical plant including equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment, electrical and life safety systems
2.Supervises day to day operations of Engineering staff
3.Ability to perform preventative and corrective maintenance through-out the hotels up to and including guestrooms, public spaces and all related hotels equipment and systems.
4.Ensure that equipment is operating at optimum effectiveness, efficiency, and safety.
5.Strong trouble-shooting skills
6.Assist Chief Engineer develops and maintains a weekly work schedule to ensure proper engineering coverage.
7.Assist Chief Engineer by providing reports on the status of project milestones and adjusts schedules accordingly.
8.Assist Chief Engineer control expenditures within limitations of budget.
9.Establishes and maintains open, collaborative relationships with Grand Performers and other department leaders.
10.Strives to improve service performance.
11.Celebrates successes and publicly recognizes the contributions of team members.
12.Provides feedback to Grand Performers based on observation of service behaviors.
13.Supervises Grand Performers' ability to execute department and hotel emergency procedures.
14.Ensures hotel policies are administered fairly and consistently.
15.Assist Chief Engineer manage an effective equipment, guestroom, hotel wide preventative maintenance program.
16.Assist Chief Engineer maintain regulatory compliance to facility regulations and safety standards.
17.Empowers Grand Performers to provide excellent customer service.
18.Maintains accurate logs, brand related reports, energy related reports as records as required.
19.Ensures disciplinary procedures and documentation are completed according to the Progressive Discipline Policy.
20.Handles guest problems and complaints effectively.
21.Preforms weekly inspections to evaluate the physical condition of facilities in order to determine the type of work required.
22.Recommends or arranges for additional services such as painting, repair work, renovations, and the replacement of furnishings and equipment.
23.Selects and orders or purchases new equipment, supplies, and furnishings.
