Responsible on a daily basis for maintaining a high level quality of service with regards to the general electrical maintenance of all the areas within the Hotel and Spa. This involves the provision of a high standard proactive service by providing Planned Preventative Maintenance in line with the schedule, whilst also ensuring a quick response time to the reactive problems communicated via the guest service centre. In addition, electricians will have a high level of interaction with the hotel guests and therefore should possess excellent communication skills and maintain a high standard of presentation at all times. The Electrician should liaise closely with the Chief Engineer, Maintenance supervisor whilst working closely with other member of the engineering team
Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications; and properly store flammable materials. Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets. Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests' service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests with genuine appreciation. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, and listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees. Speak with others using clear and professional language, and prepare and review information in a variety of formats accurately and completely. § Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures using hand tools and power tools.
§ Diagnose malfunctioning electrical systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
§ Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
§ Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
§ Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, based on job specifications and current National Electric Code and local codes.
§ Read and follow schematics to determine the location of wiring/equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes.
§ Carryout remedial electrical / mechanical repairs and minor installation work
§ Maintain proper maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
§ Test batteries in generators, fire pump, emergency lighting, UPS, etc.
Maintain Building and Property
§ Respond and attend to guest repair requests.
§ Use the Lockout/Tag out system before performing any maintenance work.
§ Ensure that all flammable materials are stored in OSHA and EPA approved containment devices.
§ Repair miscellaneous electric appliances including kitchen equipment
§ Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
§ Carry our task as instructed by the Maintenance management team
Coordinate with Others
§ Coordinate with other personnel within the Engineering Department
§ Liaise and assist with sub-contractors during replacements, alterations, and new installation work.
§ Develop and maintain positive and productive working relationships with other employees and departments.
§ Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
Safety and Security
§ Report work related accidents, or other injuries immediately upon occurrence to manager/supervisor.
§ Follow policies and procedures for the safe operation and storage of tools, equipment, and machines.
§ Identify and correct unsafe work procedures or conditions and/or report them to management and security/safety personnel.
§ Follow property specific procedures for handling emergency situations (e.g., evacuations, medical emergencies, natural disasters).
§ Use proper equipment, wear appropriate personal protective clothing (PPE), and employ correct lifting procedures, as necessary, to avoid injury.
§ Follow company and department safety and security policies and procedures to ensure a clean, safe, and secure environment.
§ Follow Hazardous Material Management Program procedures including using Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
§ Complete appropriate safety training and certifications to perform work tasks.
§ Report any serious maintenance problems, unusual findings, or safety hazards immediately to the manager/supervisor.
