Qualifications :

This is a 40 hour per week position, 5 shifts over 7 days to include weekends and bank holidays.

Rate of pay - £10.57 to £11.00 per hour.

Job Description:

To promote and ensure Guest Satisfaction by maintaining a team environment, to promote and ensure Associate Satisfaction by fostering a good working relationship within the department, to have complete working knowledge of the Housekeeping Department, to deliver a prompt and courteous service at all times. To maintain all Marriott standards to the highest level, to ensure that all Housekeeping associates are trained to provide a consistent service, to be able to assume the duties of the Executive Head Housekeeper when necessary, to set an example to fellow Associates, to drive Guest Satisfaction Surveys throughout the Hotel, and drive financial results and labour turnover throughout the department. CANDIDATE PROFILE

Experience:

· 
A minimum two years' experience in a Supervisors position or one year's experience as a Duty Housekeeper.

· 
Experience in associate development and training service, excellent interpersonal skills pro-active and reliable. Good level of English essential.

Be responsible for the staff training and development

Look after purchasing and stock control

Education or Certification:

· 
Good level of English essential.

NVQ level 2 or similar

SPECIFIC DUTIES

· 
To Report to the Executive Head Housekeeper

· 
Assist with supervision of all housekeeping associates and contract cleaners throughout the hotel.

· 
To assist the Executive Head Housekeeper in the overall running of the Housekeeping department and to deputise for the Executive Head Housekeeper in her absence.

· 
To report complaints immediately to the Executive Head Housekeeper and ensure action is taken.

· 
To implement and ensure that proper key controls are in effect.

· 
To control and oversee associates rotas for correct staffing absenteeism, sickness and overtime, and consult Executive Head Housekeeper for approval.

· 
To order cleaning and guest supplies.

· 
Check VIP rooms and long staying guests on a daily basis.

· 
To constantly monitor and check the personal grooming of all housekeeping associates at all times, as well as ensuring that associates are trained to be respectful, disciplined towards guests, the hotel, equipment and materials.

· 
To assist in the planning of a refurbishing programme.

· 
Sign maintenance orders and issue work orders for special maintenance after floor inspections.

· 
Ensure all associates adhere to all security measures.

· 
To assist in setting up and following through an induction schedule for each new associate joining the department.

· 
To identify the training requirements, organise and follow through on-the-job training, in close liaison with the Executive Head Housekeeper and the training housekeeper.

· 
To instigate and maintain high morale and motivation of associates through leadership, and ensure that team work and loyalty develops within the department.

· 
Assisting with appraising performance of associates within the h/keeping department.

· 
To assist in preparing the agenda for departmental meetings and follow up all points raised.

· 
To ensure that the hotels grievance, disciplinary and guarantee of fair treatment procedures are followed precisely.

· 
To be fully aware of and comply with all aspects of the hotels health, safety and fire policy and particularly the COSHH hygiene regulations.

· 
To ensure proper care of furniture, fixtures and equipment within the department, and back of house areas related to the department.

· 
To ensure the correct maintenance of all equipment failure to engineering. Keep the Head H/keeper informed of breakdown of equipment that needs to be replaced or stay out of order for some time.

· 
To identify and report health hazards.

· 
To ensure all associates attend fire, health and safety, and bomb evacuation procedures.

· 
Particularly regarding guests is considered to be confidential and this confidentiality must be maintained at all times

25. To undertake Person On Duty shifts for the Hotel on a rota basis.
