Qualifications :

We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Head Concierge to join our award winning Front Office team at the Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa.

The Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa is ideally located in the heart of Edinburgh's financial and tourist area and is one of Scotland's leading 5 star hotels. As the largest 5 star hotel in the city with 269 bedrooms, we also have the biggest banqueting and meeting facilities with a capacity of up to 500 and the award winning One Square Restaurant. Additionally the hotel operates the award winning One Spa™, one of Europe's premier advanced city spas.

Role:

To assist in leading, supervising and training the Concierge team, ensuring that all information that might be needed by guests is always available and updated. Assisting the Head Concierge in the running of the entire Concierge department ensuring all policies, procedures and 5* standards are adhered to.

Essential Functions:

· Assisting in the planning, organisation, training and supervision of all Concierges, Luggage Porters, Doormen and Night Concierge team.

· Monitoring, updating and streamlining all information provided to guests.

· Supervise the team and lead by example in ensuring that all team members are helpful with guests and are attending to all guests needs in a 5* professional manner.

· Maintain continuous contact with Hotel Guests to ensure that problems or complaints are handled quickly, efficiently and courteously.

· Ensure all guests receive the highest level of service in providing entertainment, car hire, restaurant reservations and any travel arrangements

· Have an ability to create instant and long lasting relationships with existing, key and new guests for the hotel and ensuring your team has the confidence to achieve this as well.

· Assist in monthly communications meeting within the department and be responsible for attending the operations meeting and any other meetings that are relevant to the Concierge Department.

Requirements:

We are looking for someone who is energetic, passionate and self-motivated and who is ready to take the next step on your career path. Ideally, you will have at least 2 years' experience within a Concierge Department within a 5 star environment, with supervisory experience preferred.

Our expectations of you will be that you are able to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team and have a strong desire to improve on your skills and knowledge as well as:

· Proven experience in assisting in leading, managing and motivating a team within a Five star hotel.

· Our guests expect an individual whose demeanour is in line with their expectations of the Sheraton brand and Marriott International.

· Attitude should be of confidence and professionalism whilst recognising that customer satisfaction is of paramount importance.

· You should be knowledgeable in all aspects of the hotel operation.

· Strong knowledge with a proven experience of recommending Edinburgh as an attraction and have a local contact network.

· Strong organizational skills

· IT Literate – Fluent with Microsoft Office/Hospitality Specific Software

· Valid Driving Licence for use in the UK.
