N Position Type Management JOB SUMMARY Entry level management position that assists in leading the banquet staff while personally assisting in executing events based on requirements and standards. Assists in developing and directing team to provide consistent, high quality service. CANDIDATE PROFILE Education and Experience \u2022 High school diploma or GED; 2 years experience in the event management, food and beverage, or related professional area. CORE WORK ACTIVITIES Supporting Management of Department Operations and Inventories \u2022 Assists in managing departmental inventories and assets including par levels and maintenance of equipment. \u2022 Maintains attendance log for banquet employees. \u2022 Maintains and enforces established sanitation levels. \u2022 Adheres to and reinforces all standards, policies, and procedures (SOPs, LSOPs, etc.). \u2022 Ensures employee awareness of the event phase portion of the Meeting Planner Survey and Guest Satisfaction Scores. \u2022 Orders supplies for the department (e.g., china, glass, silver, buffet presentations, props, and other service equipment needs). \u2022 Uses banquet beverage \u201cUse\u201d records to guide banquet beverage supervisor in controlling liquor costs, managing the banquet beverage perpetual inventory and requisitioning liquor. \u2022 Understands the impact Banquet operations has on the overall success of an event and manages activities to maximize customer satisfaction. \u2022 Assists in scheduling banquet service staff to forecast and service standards, while maximizing profits. Participating in and Assisting in Leading Banquet Teams \u2022 Attends and participates in all pertinent meetings. \u2022 Leads shifts and actively participates in the servicing of events. \u2022 Applies and continually broadens knowledge of food and wine pairings and cutting edge cuisine, and overall event presentation. Providing and Ensuring Exceptional Customer Service \u2022 Sets a positive example for guest relations. \u2022 Interacts with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels. \u2022 Responds to and handles guest problems and complaints. \u2022 Empowers employees to provide excellent customer service. \u2022 Strives to improve service performance. Conducting Human Resources Activities \u2022 Supports a departmental orientation program for employees to receive the appropriate new hire training to successfully perform their job. \u2022 Ensures employees understand expectations and parameters. \u2022 Observes service behaviors of employees and provides feedback to individuals. \u2022 Reviews comment cards and guest satisfaction results with employees. \u2022 Communicates and executes departmental and property emergency procedures and ensures staff are trained in safety procedures.
