Range & Display Planner (9 Month Fixed Term Contract)

This role is fundamental in turning category vision into reality in our stores – you will be working closely with the Trading team to ensure we are providing choice to our customers in all M&S owned and franchise stores and building easy to shop visually appealing planograms.

Your key accountabilities will include

·  Deliver against multiple critical paths whilst managing others to ensure you meet your deadlines
·  Create and maintain planograms ensuring that they have the accurate range and adhere to display principles
·  Partner the Buyer(s) to maximise customer choice in every planogram
·  Build planograms using category knowledge that are visually appealing and easy to shop
·  Provide management information including display percentage, shelf efficiency, stocking points, space and cluster performance and to provide recommendations to improve performance
·  Work with Supply Chain team to maximise availability
·  Visit stores regularly to review implementation of displays and range to gain store feedback and to identify potential improvements and opportunities
·  Conduct regular competitor visits and liaise with suppliers to keep abreast of industry activities and trends

Key skills and experience

·  Background in Range and/or Display within Food retail
·  Experience of working within a fast-paced retail environment (ideally Food retail)
·  Excellent project management
·  Customer knowledge to ensure focussed ranging
·  Excellent analysis and problem solving
·  Good presentation skills
·  Detailed knowledge of the Space Range & Display processes and critical paths
·  Food Analytics Query Tool (Business Objects)
·  JDA Suite Including – Space Planning, Assortment Optimization & Intactix Knowledge Database (or comparable planograming software)
