The Food Technologist will be based in Biospringer's corporate office in Milwaukee, WI.
Missions
The Food Technologist will work in our Culinary Center supporting the work of our Technical Applications Manager with:
- Evaluating and/or validating food applications featuring our yeast ingredients based on customer requests, internal demands or market trends.
- Reproducing industrial processes in a kitchen/ lab-scale environment to demonstrate how yeast extracts are used and at what use level.
- Performing exploratory work in new areas where our ingredients could be used.
- Working on customer driven projects to achieve various objectives, such as cost reduction, product matching, flavor enhancement, flavor masking, and clean label improvements. This can involve working with bases sent by the customer or creating a similar base to the customer's.
- Evaluating competitive products and recording sensory information in a database. Creating direct or blend matches for these competitive products with our yeast products as needed.
- Conducting testing sessions for our in-office sensory panel.
- Preparing simple application kits or developing concepts that can be used by our brokers and sales managers during sales visits.
Profile:
- Engineering degree with a 1 to 3 years’ experience in Food Research and Development/Ingredient Applications.
- Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft operating software programs – Outlook, Excel, Word, Share Point and Power Point.
- Passion for food
- Fluency in English is mandatory.
