POSITION DESCRIPTION

Data plays a critical role to the success of implementing Digital Platform capabilities. Whether it is unlocking upstream data to simplify product setup by merchants or providing attributes for platform analytics – data is the key. The Master Data Analyst will work closely with teams across the platform and enterprise data teams (SAP) to support the creation and ongoing maintenance of high quality item data, ensure master data processes and guidelines are enforced, and serve as a subject matter expert related to master data. Responsibilities also span every aspect of Agile software development, including priority definition, planning, development, deployment, measurement, iteration, and support. This position is embedded with the dedicated Data Product Team, and reports to the AVP, Mast Global Digital Products.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Data Maintenance & Governance
• Assists with governance and quality assurance of data elements by monitoring systems and reports, proposing system and/or process enhancements and participating in testing
• Serves as a consultant to internal and external business partners by providing recommendations to enhance collection, integrity and strengths of their data sets
• Create, manage and maintain documentation on data lineage and traceability from upstream data systems to customer facing solutions
• Partner with cross-functional Master Data teams to drive related improvement initiatives as necessary and suggest innovative ideas to improve Master Data Governance
• Drive processes that ensure customer data across systems is consistent and accurately reflect the agreed upon definitions

Communication
• Partner with platform teams to resolve issues and answer Master Data related inquiries; appropriately escalating issues to ensure timely resolution
• Understand and communicate master data updates (e.g., maintenance, introduction of new fields, modification in attribute definition etc.) that impact downstream systems / platform teams
• Maintain clear communication and positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
• Track development heath and velocity using Agile tools; anticipate, track, escalate and mitigate risks
• Ensure quality, compliance, and rapid response to customer or business issues

Qualifications

• Organized, structured, analytical and logical; strong problem-solving skills
• Comfortable working with distributed teams balancing Lean/Agile Product practices
• Good understanding of ecommerce platform technology and commerce KPIs
• High curiosity and learning orientation; uses qualitative and quantitative methods to assess performance & customer experience
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including relationship management, presentation, facilitation, and decision support
• Self-starter with partiality towards proactive discovery, a passion for customer data, ability to work cross-functionally, relentless focus on the details, and strong experience with Business Intelligence and data tools

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• 2+ years Business Analyst or Product Analyst experience, especially in Agile software development
• 2+ years’ experience with consumer-facing digital products/properties
• 2+ years’ experience with SQL data mining and reporting tools
• Relevant data management experience (master data, metadata, data architecture, data governance, data quality, data modeling).
• Experience with cross-functional data delivery project teams through all phases of the project lifecycle from scoping and planning, requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and go live. Relevant management experience is a plus.
