Description

The Accountant is responsible for moderately complex accounting activities and analysis relating to the maintenance of a complete and accurate general ledger and the resultant managerial reports and financial statements.

Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

·  Ensure that all month-end accounting is performed in a timely and accurate manner with a high level of attention to detail
·  Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliation schedules
·  Reconcile and maintain expense accounts and ensure appropriate accruals each month
·  Research and resolve store and distribution center inventory related issues
·  Partner with with finance and non-finance partners to resolve inventory discrepancies
·  Assist with special projects and ad hoc analysis
·  Maintain high level of productivity
·  Follow up on all outstanding issues on a timely basis
·  Provide quality customer service
·  Identify areas of opportunity/weakness and recommend solutions for achieving optimal efficiency in a controlled environment
·  Maintain financial and operational controls and procedures

Qualifications

Qualifications

·     Excellent verbal and written communication skills
·     Strong organizational skills
·     Must be detail oriented with demonstrated analytical and technical skills
·     Perform job functions/assignments with minimal supervision

Education and Experience

·  Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred
·  Advanced degree or CPA a plus
·  2 – 4 years of experience in accounting and/or finance operations
·  Experience in journal entry preparation, auditing and balance sheet reconciliation preferred
·  SAP experience a plus
·  Intermediate/Advanced PC Skills – Excel, Word and Access
