The Team

The Manchester pensions team is growing significantly due to substantial new business wins. We are recruiting at all levels within our trustee services team to help deliver actuarial and administration advice to a large portfolio of clients in new and innovative ways. This is the opportunity to be part of this exciting and growing business.

The Role

The responsibilities of this role are wide ranging and varied.

The key work streams within the team include:
• Delivering professional pensions consulting advice on a wide range of Trustee related pension issues.
• Undertaking all aspect of pension scheme triennial valuations and other statutory reports required.
• Production of pension scheme factor review reports.
• Assisting administrators with complex individual member calculations.
• Strategy projects such as benefit change and scheme design.

Irrespective of the area you are working in, it will involve the following:
• Producing technically excellent and consistently accurate calculations with clear audit trail.
• Producing high quality deliverables addressing key client issues.
• Managing own time and that of reports effectively to consistently meet all deadlines.
• Taking responsibility for and managing small projects (including appropriate delegation fee analysis and billing).
• Regularly monitoring all aspects of risk compliance.
• Showing awareness of commercial issues and occasionally applying this to identify potential opportunities for clients.

Professional qualifications

Making good progress with the actuarial exams.

Experience and Skills

Successful candidates will have the following attributes:
• Consistently able to work at high level of intensity whilst maintaining a professional and positive approach.
• Fully engaged and take responsibility for own performance.
• Ability to lead and coach less experienced staff and work closely with colleagues in multi-disciplinary client service teams.
• Experience of preparing work that is ultimately delivered to Trustees.
