Background

KPMG Small Business Accounting (SBA) is one of the Firm’s Strategic Growth Initiatives. The virtual, technology-enabled service launched just over three years ago and has rapidly grown to become a leader in this new market for KPMG. SBA has won a number of industry awards and has acquired a high volume of clients.
The objective of SBA is to support ambitious, growth-focused small business owners by allowing them more time to focus on growing their business, whilst the SBA team focuses on ensuring compliance and financial obligations are taken care of.
Due to our rapid expansion, we are looking to recruit an experienced Payroll Officer – UK payroll processing of high volume client numbers, Ensuring the provision of a world class service to our clients.

The role

This is an exciting role within a fast-growing sector of the Small Business Accounting payroll team.
The role will support the payroll team to deliver the payroll BAU payroll service to our clients in a highly professional and fast paced environment.

Roles and Responsibilities

- Ownership of a client portfolio of payrolls
- Planning & scheduling of payroll critical tasks for your client portfolio
- Setting up new clients onto the payroll system and making introductory calls with clients
- Following KPMG’s Quality Assurance processes to ensure accuracy of work
- Active involvement in improvement initiatives of payroll processes, and the ability to work as part of a project team when required
- Commitment to own CPD demonstrating a proactive approach to ensuring professional and technical knowledge is up to date with current legislation

Qualifications and Skills

- The successful candidate will have the following experience and skills:
- UK payroll processing experience (at least 2+ years), to include full understanding of all current UK payroll legislation.
- Experience of high volume client payroll provision through a leading payroll system
- Previous payroll project work is desirable
Experience of team work and ability to work as part of a team
- Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to coach and mentor
- High standard of accuracy and attention to detail
