No previous experience of working with the R&D tax credit is necessary. Training will be provided.
Role
We are currently seeking to hire an Accounting Technician for a permanent role, based in Dublin.
We ideally need you to have the following on your CV:

·  An accounting technician qualification and membership of the Institute of Accounting Technicians.
·  An absolute minimum of one years post qualification experience, in a busy accounting environment or similar.
·  Demonstrable numerical skills/analytical skills.
·  Excellent communication skills, exceptional oral and written communications capabilities
·  Ability to communicate effectively and comfortably with client personnel of all levels
·  Willingness to assume significant responsibility, ownership and accountability
·  Willingness to develop an in-depth understanding of the basic taxation aspects of R&D tax credit claims (training will be provided); previous R&D tax credit experience would be a bonus
·  Ability to work within a team environment and be self motivated
·  Ability to handle multiple engagements simultaneously
·  Must have excellent MS office skills, particularly excel, power point and Word. Your work will be varied. Below will be some of your core responsibilities:

·  Working in a cross functional team environment to complete R&D tax credit claims for small, medium and large companies.
·  Analysing financial information and preparing reports detailing qualifying R&D projects.
·  Liaising with/assisting technical teams in respect of claims
·  Interacting with clients in relation to eligible expenditure
·  Reviewing and analysing detailed financial information
·  Preparing presentations and client communications
·  Planning, organising and executing engagements on time and within budget.
·  Successfully developing and managing client relationships
·  Developing an understanding of the R&D tax credit scheme
·  Assisting with fees and budgets

The R&D tax credit scheme is designed to incentivise companies based in Ireland to develop or enhance new products or processes. The incentive is provided through a corporation tax credit (which is also available as cash refund in certain circumstances when companies have an insufficient corporation tax liability). The R&D tax credit is available for qualifying R&D expenditure, including labour, materials, capital costs and certain overheads incurred in carrying out qualifying R&D activities within the European Economic Area by an Irish tax resident company.
