Introduction to KPMG's Reward practice

The Reward practice at KPMG is a dedicated national team that advise on the design, tax, market practice, corporate governance, regulatory and accounting aspects of management and broader employee incentive structures. The team advises on incentive plan design and structuring, drafting plan documents and advising on the tax, legal, regulatory and corporate governance aspects of incentive arrangements for both UK and global clients. The successful applicant will want to be involved in business development activities, including client proposals, internal and external presentations and writing articles and alerts on technical and other matters.

The team is looking for individuals with experience of advising on the tax aspects of incentive arrangements to come into the team and work primarily on the design, implementation and tax advisory aspects of incentive arrangements, with the opportunity to work across other work streams within the team.

Both the National Market business and the Reward team, particularly in the South, have grown in recent years and this role offers candidates the opportunity to join a business area which has wider leadership support to build upon its success and continue to grow.

What KPMG’s Reward practice is looking for from its consultants:

- Team players who enjoy working with people from different backgrounds and disciplines
- Intellectually curious, open-minded and analytical people, with an eye for detail and pride in their work
- Proactive professionals who deliver a great service to their clients
- Relationship builders who can spot and develop new opportunities both within the KPMG network and externally
- Flexible people who are able to deal with a fluid, changing, work environment

Why you might want to join KPMG’s Reward practice:

- We encourage our team members to develop and maintain specialisms across the broad range of reward / share plans work including listed and unlisted and UK and global work. In particular there is opportunity to work across both the reward consulting area and our more traditional tax and equity based offering
- You are looking to broaden out your experience to include executive reward, global tax and/or regulatory advisory work
- You want the opportunity to develop client relationships and KPMG’s reward capabilities
- You want to join a growing team that is expanding its offering to clients
- You want to achieve a sustainable work-life balance

Qualification and Skills

- The applicant will have a relevant professional qualification. e.g. ACA/CTA qualified (or equivalent) or qualified solicitor with share plans experience of listed and unlisted and UK and global share plan work. We would also consider exceptional candidates with employee, transactions and/or private client experience
- Strong academic, technical and personal skills are a pre-requisite
- Strong project management, including the ability to plan and monitor deliverables, budget and timescales
- Effective time management, able to act under own initiative and remain calm under pressure
- Ability to lead and manage others and work across disciplines
- Ability to identify and manage areas of risk within clients' business and know when to refer upwards
- Strong communicator in a range of situations both written and oral

Experience and Background

The successful applicant will be a reward / share plans specialist who:

- has a good understanding of the UK tax and legal issues that may arise in relation to long term and equity based incentive arrangements
- has experience of drafting legal documentation, employee communications and technical advice
- demonstrates excellent organisational skills and ability to work under their own initiative
- is either working in professional services with a reputation for delivering high quality technical advice in this space; or
- working in industry but able to demonstrate the ability to deliver in a professional services environment when tested

We believe in putting you at the centre of your career – KPMG will offer the training, development and stimulating work environment to help you get to where your career ambitions are. That’s why we introduced ‘Our Deal’ – it’s our way of saying ‘thank you’ for bringing your best to work.
