Brief Description

The position will be based out of Bahrain and the incumbent will need to report to the Risk Management Partner and the Ethics and Independence Partner, and their nominated designee for the Bahrain practice of KPMG. The incumbent must be qualified legal personnel (Bachelors degree in Law, Masters Degree in Law), with hands on experience in review of contracts with knowledge in identification of risk arising from contracts and suggesting safeguards, preferably bi-lingual (with ability to review and manage contracts in Arabic and English). 2- 5 years of prior work experience in professional risk management and in a compliance function will be necessary pre-qualification for the above position.

Role and Responsibilities

·  Applies knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and professional standards to the queries raised and contracts referred

·  Participate in the development of a standard engagement contract for each type of service offered by the firm and subsequently review, and respond to, requested modifications to those letters

·  Review contracts that involve higher risk clients or engagements and/or nontraditional fee arrangements

·  Advise on issues surrounding non-compliance with laws and regulation by clients

·  Review of any other referred third party contracts.

·  Identifies risk matters, suggests safeguards and escalates as appropriate

·  Applies the provisions of KPMG's Risk Management Manual and obtains sufficient information to address the risk management queries demonstrating basic knowledge of risk management skills
Additional Responsibilities

·  Assist the KPMG member firm and its personnel in complying with Risk Management Policies Manual

·  Assists the firm and personnel in addressing the risk management queries and demonstrates basic knowledge of risk management skills

·  Assists in carrying out risk management control compliance tests, and document the results of the compliance testing programs

·  Understands the concept of ethics and independence, conflicts, and risk mitigation of threats by applying safeguards.

·  Identifies risk matters and prepares responses to general and specific risk management queries

·  Assist in the maintenance of records relating to risk management activities
