About us

KONE Americas is one of KONE's four area organizations representing one-fifth of global sales. The local leadership team is responsible for implementing KONE strategy in the USA, Canada and Mexico.

We are looking for

Someone responsible for the profitable operation of a Branch Office Service Business. This includes the direct supervision of all related maintenance and repair activity, union and non-union personnel, as well as accomplishing goals for quality and customer satisfaction.

1. Direct workers (maintenance mechanics, helpers, and repair crews) concerned with maintenance and repair projects.
2. Supervise routing (loading jobs, appropriate backups, and 100% jobs). Determine the layout for the best geographical service routes coupled with manpower qualifications to keep travel time and expenses to a minimum.
3. Supervise escalator clean downs and annual cracked step inspections.
4. Review material orders. Minimize overnight shipments.
5. Review callbacks daily. Assure that mechanics comply with check out procedure (the time the job was completed and the callback code).
6. Complete quality audits and customer contacts one day a week. Audit jobs, visit with customer, and complete appropriate forms. Review information with the route mechanic.
7. Conduct service meetings once a month outside of the meetings with the Service Manager. Deliver checks once a month and meet with the field men.
8. Review outstanding repairs with the Repair Supervisor to assure accurate scheduling and completion of all repairs.
9. Ensure all time tickets are accurate. Check and approve all service time tickets and invoices for vendor’s materials.
10. Contact and update customers when units are left shut down for repairs or parts.

Desired profile

Skills, Education and Experience

Education:
A two-year college level degree and/or equivalent combination of technical and management experience in elevator/escalator or related industry.

Experience:
Minimum two years experience in the elevator or related industry.

Specific Knowledge, Skills & Behaviors:
1. Two years experience in maintenance/repair within the elevator/escalator or related industry.
2. Familiarity with electrical mechanical and hydraulic systems as applied in industry transportation and/or conveyance systems.
3. Experience or ability to learn PC database, spreadsheet, scheduling, project management, communication and word processing applications.
4. Willing and able to travel with occasional extended over night stay. Automobile drivers license and frequent day travel required within branch office jurisdictional area.
5. Good leadership, supervisory, organizational, written, verbal communication and customer skills.
6. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business and technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
7. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedures.
