Weekend FLT Driver / Warehouse Operative

We have a fantastic opportunity for FLT Drivers / Warehouse operatives to work at our Dagenham site.

Your Role

The role will initially focus on our EuroLink groupage operations, loading and unloading vehicles using a counter balance truck. Using truck mounted terminal and hand held scanner to check consignments during goods in, storage and loading processes. Checking for and reporting all damages, gaining maximum load fill without creating damage and following rules relating do the loading and storage of dangerous goods. Reporting to the Warehouse Team Leader you will play a key role in the warehouse operations ensuring that customer freight is loaded and unloaded in a safe, professional and time effective manner. This role will be working a fixed shift pattern of Thursday and Friday between 09:00 and 18:30 plus Saturday and Sunday between 06:00 and 17:20

Your Responsibilities

·  Responsibly operate a counter balance fork lift truck to move, stack and rearrange freight in the warehouse
·  Store freight according to the correct racking locations and/or zones in the most effective space saving way possible.
·  Ensure that every piece of freight which is being loaded or unloaded is scanned correctly, thereby forming an accurate audit trail.
·  Take instruction from supervisors in the form of manifests processed by our internal departments.
·  Liaise with a warehouse supervisor if any freight is found to be unsafe to move.
·  Ensure that trailer/vans are swept, clean, tidy and in good repair and are well presented for loading and unloading purposes
·  When requested, carry out tasks in other departments, working in an efficient and effective manner.
·  Ensure customer service is a high priority in terms of accuracy, damage and timely despatch.

Your Skills and Experiences

·  Previous warehouse experience
·  Previous experience of operating a counterbalance forklift
·  Experience in operating counterbalance also with long forks
·  Experience in cross dock operations
·  Experience in loading/unloading driving on and off trailers (Loading Docks)
·  Experience of using dock levellers
·  Capable of working at height
·  Smart appearance and positive attitude
