Job Description

The Waitrose Contract is a dynamic, pressurised 24/7 environment providing superior value by having the right stock in the right place at the right time delivered with pride at the right cost. Our Warehouse Operative role is seen as a main drive of the Operation by fulfilling our Customers' needs by carrying out picking/goods, goods in/out tasks, and with the use of provided tools you will be able to deliver that Customer Service within the level and timescale expected from a multi-temperature operation.

Tasks and Responsibilities

·  Use material handling equipment (MHE) to unload incoming materials from trailers

·  Verify and receive goods into stock

·  May include palletising and shrink-wrap

·  Duties may include receiving, checking and storing goods and be required to stack product into roll cages and repeatedly lift goods

·  Use MHE to move and store goods within the Warehouse and to assist with picking, verify and pack store orders in line with Safe Working Practices, also use of MHE or other designated means to load goods into trailers for distribution and to ensure the operation of all MHE is in accordance with operational procedures at all times

·  To work from pick sheets, labels or ‘pick by voice' equipment and to check and fulfil orders, to achieve relevant pick target for specific chamber and all KPIs as agreed by the company and to ensure principles of good housekeeping are maintained

·  Ensuring that health & Safety, Food Hygiene standards, HACCP regulations are followed at all times, within operational procedures

·  In addition to these duties, you may be required to undertake other duties in line with the needs of the business, where appropriate training provided

Your skills and experience

·  Proven basic math skills at Secondary School level

·  Able to work in a chilled/frozen environment

·  Excellent attention to detail

·  Able to establish priorities and accomplish multiple tasks with minimal supervision

·  Customer Focused and Customer Orientated

·  Prior experience in a Warehouse environment

·  Teamwork

·  Flexibility
