Job Description
We are looking for a route planner for a 12 month secondment at our Avonmouth Transits Point on behalf of Kuehne + Nagel Drinks Logistics. KN Drinks Logistics is a wholly owned business within the KN group, providing a national platform for the distribution of drinks and associated services to retail outlets across the UK. Reporting directly to the South Regional Planning Manager ; the successful candidate will be part of the secondary planning team who will be responsible for part of the day to day route planning within the Southern region and will be based at Avonmouth Transit Point. There will be a focus on business excellence and continuous improvement of productivity levels and operational efficiencies.
Your Tasks and Responsibilities:
· Route plan for an average of 200+ routes per week creating efficient plans on a daily basis that achieve high levels of customer service; while ensuring tight control on cost and achieving agreed key performance targets
· Use the paragon route planning software to execute multi drop plans
· Adherence to 10+ external contract partner contractual agreements
· Time management- to ensure route plans produced within agreed timescales to support RDC network
· Developing strong links with both internal and external customers to the business
· Ability to Influence key operational managers
· Initiating and implementing new initiatives for continuous improvements to both operational and service processes.
· Provide accurate management information as and when required and participating in Projects and customer reviews
Your Skills and Experience
· Ability to understand numerical planning data and carry out “what if” scenarios.
· Ability to question, challenge and improve upon existing processes
· Ability to keep calm under pressure and maintain high levels of service
· Excellent communication and organisational skills
· Demonstrate flexibility – To be prepared to work & think outside the box to ensure customer service & cost control.
· Ability to work as part of a team with confidence of own decision making
· Strong geographical knowledge linked to planning solutions.
· PC Skills – LES, SAP, Excel/ Word and Vehicle routeing, executing and scheduling packages.
