Seafreight Import Customer Service Representative Coordinator (18 Month Coverage)

Job Description

We are currently looking for an Seafreight Customer Service Representative Coordinator to join our Edmonton, AB office.

* This is an 18 month maternity leave coverage position, with a potential of Full Time employment *

Responsibilities

-Plan, organize, co-ordinate, arrange, monitor the transportation and movement of goods;

-Follow operations policies, procedures, standards, and ensure compliance with transport regulations;

-Arrange for transport/shipping documentation and oversee the scheduling dispatching of goods and the tracking and tracing of goods in transit;

-Arrange for payment of transportation, storage and any other related charges;

-Arrange for insurance coverage for cargo;

Determine method of transportation/shipping and prepare bills of lading, invoices and
other shipping documents;

-Consult with clients after transaction to resolve problems and to provide ongoing
support;

-Answer customer inquiries and assist clients in planning of transit times and routes;Receive
bookings;

-Proactive response to service issues;

-Daily communication with overseas office, Seafreight carrier and customers and
updating of shipment status.

-Other duties as may be assigned to you from time to time by the Company.

Qualifications
• Degree/Diploma in International Business, Transportation, Logistics, or a related field preferred;
• 3+ years' freight forwarding experience in Canada;
• Excellent customer service experience required, additional administrative / data entry experience;
• Excellent communication in English (verbal and written);
• Strong organizational and time management skills required, including the proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with time-sensitive deadlines;
• Proven ability to work well both independently and as part of a team required;
• Proficient computer skills required (Microsoft Word and Excel).
