Job description

Reporting to the National Planning Team Managers, you must be an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual that is responsible for the efficient planning of Primary Transport Resource within the KNDL network. The role is varied and will entail a variety of challenges which include the efficient planning of all orders scheduled for delivery on that given day. There is also a huge emphasis on looking ahead and efficiently routing loads through both the KNDL network and haulage resource in order to give the optimum route to market.

As a Primary Planner you will work to a ‘One Plan' philosophy with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the most efficient and achievable plan is achieved in line with both set KPIs and the operational requirements of the network in general.

Your tasks and responsibilities

· 
To manage and strategically plan efficient shifts that meet all KPI requirements whilst ensuring all criteria is met to guarantee the optimum flow throughout the various RDCs and breweries

· 
Own the network Plan v Actual KPI, specifically looking at Revenue, Cost and Margin

· 
Take responsibility and accountability for the network Plan v Actual figure

· 
Maintain and analyse KPI figures and detail so they are available for review

· 
Establish best route to market to ensure that maximum margin is achieved

· 
Liaise and work alongside all stakeholders to ensure the execution of the plan is given every chance to hit its planned target

· 
Initiating and implementing new initiatives for continuous improvements to both operational and service processes

· 
To provide accurate management information as and when required

Your skills and experience

· 
Be logistically sound and have a flexible mind set in order to achieve best overall results for KNDL and its customers.

· 
To learn and maintain full knowledge of the KNDL network including both primary and Secondary aspects of the business. Become the resident expert on the Plan V Actual KPI suite

· 
Understand and promote the ‘One Plan' philosophy – This takes in all the flexibility and constraints of transport, warehouse, brewery and customer. Ability to understand and interpret both quantitative and qualitative data.

· 
Show good understanding of all contracts and put into practice relevant commercial knowledge in all decision making. Demonstrate an ability to take on extra responsibility and workload without being prompted

· 
Continuous Improvement – ability to question, challenge and improve upon existing processes

· 
To build long standing relationships with and promote understanding of all internal stakeholders

· 
Resilience – an ability to keep calm under pressure and continue to follow the correct processes under difficult circumstances. Communication – Excellent communication and organisational skills

· 
Strong geographical knowledge linked to planning solutions.
