Management Trainee

Vancouver

Our Management Trainee program is a two year, on-the-job training program for College or University graduates, framed to help you acquire new skills, gain valuable work experience and develop the expertise to become an industry professional and leader.

This position is based in our new Vancouver, British Columbia location.

Specific responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following :

Main Responsibilities


-Expanding your foundational knowledge within the industry;
-Learning the daily operations of various departments in a number of rotations. Possible areas of assignment include: oceanfreight, airfreight, overland, customs brokerage, sales, and finance;
-Working on special assignments and presenting findings to management team;
-Building and establishing professional relationships;
-Learning how to problem-solve and resolve logistics issues;
-Supporting day-to-day operations in import and export departments (which may include
a variety of operational, customer service, or administrative duties).

Your skills and experience

Qualifications:

-Recent graduate from an International Business, Freight Forwarding or Logistics Management program;
-6 months or less of industry experience;
-Excellent customer service, verbal and written communication skills;
-Strong organizational, time management and problem solving skills, including high attention to detail and accuracy within a fast-paced work environment;
-Ability to handle multiple assignments and work under pressure with tight deadlines;
-Numeracy and negotiation skills;
-Strong computer competency required, including full proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
