Job description
Working on the Kettle Foods contract in a busy Transport Department, you will be required to make deliveries to customer premises, as well as Trunking Stock from Kettle's Factory based at Norwich to their Warehouse at Snetterton. Reporting to the Transport Manager, Drivers will have a professional approach and will be able to enhance our established partnership with Kettle Foods.
Your Tasks and Responsibilities
· Conduct full inspection of vehicle, trailer and load prior to departure from site and responsible for the security of the vehicle, trailer and load at all times.
· Ensure that all store and non store delivery procedures are followed in line with company and customers procedures and ensure all Company documentation and equipment is returned to the Transport Office daily.
· Ensure Health and Safety and Food Hygiene requirements are met within company and legal frameworks so that there is a safe and hygienic environment at all times.
· Report any issues regarding any aspect of the delivery to the Transport Office at all times and report vehicle or trailer defects and ensure that the defect is documented.
· Maintain a high level of hygiene and housekeeping within the depot and maintain the same policy for the vehicle and trailer allocated for the daily duties.
· Comply with and ensure driver's hours regulations, working time directive and Tachographs are in line with the current legislation and company procedures.
· Ensure that their Digital Tacho Driver Card and Drivers CPC Qualification Card is carried at all times and that their Digital Tacho is downloaded on return to base daily.
· In addition to these duties, you may be required to undertake other duties in line with the needs of the business, where appropriate training can be provided
Your skills and experience
· Must hold a current LGV Licence
· Experience delivering to major distribution centres
· A good working knowledge of EU driving regulations and Working Time Directive Legislation
· This is a physically demanding role
· A hard working, positive and flexible attitude is essential, as start times will vary and from time to time you will be required to cover additional shifts to meet the needs of the business
