Job description

In this highly visible position within the sea logistics go-to market development group, the candidate will be responsible for managing the sea logistics trade sales team, developing 1-2 key strategic NAM accounts as well as hunting & developing new, smaller sea logistics opportunities for the group including Transatlantic, Mediterranean, and Latam markets.

Your Role

This position requires daily engagement to manage a team of approximately 8-9 trade sales people including training and personnel development, a keen understanding of customer needs, setting expectations, developing win themes/solution strategies, and ultimately closing Blue Anchor line business. In addition, the candidate should have a high level understanding of systems and integration (i.e. supply chain visibility), international seafreight operations knowledge, and the ability to think strategically. He/she will have high level understanding of solution selling (VAS) in the international freight forwarding environment especially as it pertains to small and medium size accounts. A positive, inclusive attitude and high level of professionalism are essential for this position.

Your Responsibilities

•Hunt and develop new seafreight opportunities with a focus on small and medium size customers.  Seafreight opportunities should be focused on business that is paid in the USA and can be either Transatlantic, Mediterranean, or Latam trade lanes.
•Develop 1 or 2 new strategic North American owned accounts. 
•Build close, strong relationships as a SME with external customers and internal customers
•Ability to manage various projects/tasks across cross functional teams
•Travel both domestic and international with the ability to work across various cultures
•Manage, train and develop the team of trade sales people in order to build their hunting ability, selling skills and ultimate success ratios for converting business to Blue Anchor Line.

Your Skills and Experiences

• Candidates should have 10 years of supply chain/freight forwarding experience, ideally in seafreight sales and preferably a minimum of 2 years supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of KN in-house systems an advantage
• High degree of organizational, administrative and communication skills
• SAP Business Object (BO) and Tableau experience
• High level of experience in MS Suite
