Job description

Business Development Manager, Contract Logistics is responsible for the development of new Contract Logistics business within the country. As the Business Development Manager is the primary contact within Kuehne + Nagel with regards to “Country” Contract Logistics Sales and coordinates all Business Development actions over the country and trigger opportunities for large accounts.

Your tasks and responsibilities

·  Meet and exceed personal and “Country” new business revenue goals
·  Drive and Support local teams to develop a strong pipeline for sales opportunities in Focus Countries
·  Work on regional/ local RFQ/RFP written responses to win new business
·  Support operations and solution engineering with key inputs for the solution development and pricing of new opportunities
·  Get involved into the GO / NO GO procedure for all opportunities over 250 TCH revenue per annum and make sure that resources are not dispersed into non-strategic and non-significant opportunities
·  Validate each proposal over 1 Mio CHF revenue per annum
·  Build relationships with key contacts within customer organizations to understand opportunities for Kuehne + Nagel Contract Logistics to create value.
·  Work closely with Global & Regional teams to develop creative solutions to customer needs.
·  Responsible for commercial negotiations including legal negotiations with customers
·  Cross-sell Kuehne + Nagel suite of services.
·  Manage “Country” CL Opportunities
·  Develop and implement account plans for major key accounts in the country.
·  Ensure reporting of all CL Sales developments in Core-Log on time & to align with the Region &
·  Corporate vertical owners and GKAMs etc
·  Identify new product opportunities and develop creative solutions to fulfill customer needs
·  Drive proactive suggestions for improvement.
·  Maintain close communication with customer and Kuehne + Nagel management & operations team to assure uniform understanding of customer expectations relative to operational solutions, timeline, costs, and results

Your skills and experience

·  The ideal candidate has a Bachelors Degree
·  A diploma or certification in Airfreight procedures and forwarding applications is highly appreciated
·  Prior experience in Integrated Logistics/Contract Logistics of minimum 5 years is mandatory
·  Experience in Fast-moving consumer Goods/Automotive/Pharmaceutical & Healthcare of minimum 2 years
·  Good background in consultative sales, customer relationships, and business development
·  Sold understanding of Lean, supply chain management, contract logistics & transportation
·  Fluent written and verbal communication in English and Kiswahili is mandatory
·  Strong Leadership behavior
·  Ability to initiate Top to Top talks/meetings
·  Excellent communication skills
