Job description

The role of the Returns Supervisor is to coach, mentor, and develop your team in a high volume and fast paced startup environment. The Returns Supervisor has general responsibility for coordinating and supervising the returns department.

Your Responsibilities

•Responsible for implementation, supporting and meeting KN and/or customer KPIs within sphere of responsibility. 
•Awareness of and adherence to QSHE programs. 
•Ensure QSHE compliance of team/station(s) is maintained.
•Ensure the necessary handling procedures (both physical & written) are followed accordingly when applicable, documented in client-level Quality Agreements, Service Level Agreements, and SOPs.
•Understand and adhere to local State and Federal regulations inclusive but not limited to, OSHA, DOT, EPA and other government agencies. IATA DG Certification is required to handle any hazardous material(s). 
•Keep up to date with KN global and country specific KN standards and requirements.
•Implement/maintain safety, security, quality, housekeeping and sanitation programs, as applicable. 
•Work closely with other departments to deliver high level of service to customers. 
•Will oversee Returns Department to ensure all Key Performance Indicators are met or exceeded. 
•Plan, coordinate and monitor the receipt, storage and shipping of goods.  
•Research, update or document necessary information and utilize reports to project warehouse and/or order status. Report and analyze data and present results to senior managers when necessary
•Define staffing needs and allocate workload. Provide assistance and direction to colleagues and subordinates as required.
•Consult and organize activities with other teams and departments
•Interface with customers to answer questions or solve problems. Will foster effective and cordial relationships with onsite clients.
•Assist in the tracking of productivity to support the company business plan. 
•Identify areas of improvement and establish innovative or adjust existing work procedures and practices. Assist in developing departmental and organizational policies and procedures to maximize overall accuracy. 
•Establish, lead and manage an operations team including but not limited to recruitment and placement of staff, delegating tasks and accountabilities, monitoring and evaluating performance, training and development of assigned staff. Will be required to handle investigations in order to resolve employee issues or concerns. Will be responsible for issuing progressive discipline.
•Ensure that all relevant procedures and processes are followed and adhered to in line with the Company’s procedures and requirements 
•Responsible for analyzing and directing material flow and labor resources throughout functional areas on a daily basis.
•Assure returns center operations are compliant with customer policies, carrier requirements and legal standards.
•Daily responsibility for communications with internal and external customers, i.e. suppliers, customers, locations, truck drivers

•Responsible for directing daily activities with little to no supervision in the facility
•Perform special projects as assigned by manager. 
•Responsible for returns center housekeeping standards.
•Responsible for utilizing proper safety equipment and following all safety procedures.
•Must participate in and accomplish yearly objectives for personal and department improvement.
•Participate in ISO training, and all company and department policies and procedures.
•Manage and Control MRB area within the returns center
•Responsible for daily communications with internal team members.
•Maintain an effective working relationship with other departments, internal and external customers, management, and customer.
•Cross train in functional areas to provide support across all shifts in each area.  May involve working various shifts to assure coverage on consistent basis.
•Provide a safe working environment. Ensure compliance of operation with company policies as well as federal, state and location laws. 
•Spend at least 90% of time on the production floor. 
•Will perform other job tasks, as assigned. Ability to meet attendance requirements and work hours necessary to achieve customer metrics.
•The ability to interact effectively and professionally with coworkers.
•Participate in KN Care
•Assist in other areas on an as needed basis. (inbound, quality, outbound, inventory, etc.)
•Will perform other job tasks, as assigned. May be required to assist other operations within the distribution center.

Your Skills and Experiences

•EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
•Must have three (3) years’ experience in a warehouse environment, one (1) in a supervisory role 
•Experience with shipping, receiving and inventory control 
•SAP Experience preferred.
•Returns experience preferred
•Successful communication - written and verbal • Establish priorities and multi-task 
•Possess professional business demeanor 
•Experience with personal computers and materials handling equipment
•Strong work ethic and team player.
•High degree of professionalism. Ability to communicate with various levels of the organization. Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills.
•Material Handling Equipment: Pallet Jack
•Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
