NVH Engineers - Southampton - £23,000 to £35,000 pa
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a NVH Engineer to work for an enterprise Unit linked to the Institute of Sound and Vibration Research. This position will be based in a research centre within the Faculty of Engineering and Environment at the University of Southampton. The role is offering an attractive package of up to 35k pa depending on experience plus benefits.
As a NVH engineer you will be part of a small professional consultancy team who apply research in the fields of noise, vibration, acoustics (NVH) and dynamics. You will undertake collaboration work with the likes of Ford, JLR and various other engineering businesses from the UK and around the world.
This is a diverse and interesting role working on NVH analysis and experimentation across a wide range of industries you will be required to investigate new methods such as active control of noise and vibration and design optimization.
You should have some of the following skills and experience for this position:
- Experience in NVH investigation/ experiments, FE Modelling ideally in an automotive environment but other industries such as marine, aerospace, rail and domestic appliances will be considered
- Degree educated in acoustics, dynamics or NVH.
- A PhD would be attractive but not essential.
- A good feel for engineering design ideally with an understanding of CAD Solidworks/Catia V5
- It would be an advantage if you have used tools such as Hypermesh/ ANSA
