The Label Designer will be responsible for designing labels used on finished good product that meets business and industry regulations (CFR 801 (US) Labeling of all Medical Devices", "ISO15223", “EN980”). In addition, responsible for proofing/inspecting labels created by other designers to ensure they meet label requests and industry regulations. Attention to detail a must; excellent time management skills in order to balance work with limited supervision; must be comfortable working independently. Will represent Labeling on project teams; responsible for training business partners on the Labeling request process; design finished good labels to meet the needs of project teams while ensuring compliance with defined procedures and regulations. Must be confident in ability to learn new software; i.e. Prisymedica (label design software/programming language) to design templates, and be able to design sample labels for product registrations for Regulatory under tight timelines. Determine symbology requirements to meet FDA, BSi and TUVregulations, responsible for aligning label content with Instruction for Use (IFU) content, responsible for ensuring label design meets packaging requirements, direct label stock vendors to create new label stock to meet business needs.
Work in a team environment to drive consistency across DePuy labeling. Provide immediate guidance to printing locations worldwide in regards to label printing. Route labels for approval in PLM system and update Device Master Records (DMRs). Perform periodic review of procedures to verify accuracy. Suggest Labeling system/process changes when appropriate. Manage spend with translations house vendors. Responsible for accuracy of translations from translation house vendors. Assist Quality with investigation activities as they relate to labeling issues.
QualificationsA minimum of a high school degree or equivalent is required. A minimum of an Associate's Degree in a field of graphic arts, regulatory or computer systems is preferred. A minimum 4 years of professional work experience is required. The ability to prioritize work with limited supervision is required. The ability to provide possible solutions to label design issues is preferred. Experience in label design within a regulated industry is preferred. Experience with quality inspection is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of applications is required. Experience with ADAPTIV PLM systems is preferred.
This position is located in West Chester, PA and may require up to 20% domestic travel.
