Data Analyst/Statistical Programmer

LifeScan is a Johnson & Johnson company. LifeScan Scotland was created in 2001 when Johnson & Johnson acquired the UK assets of Inverness Medical Ltd, a medical device company established in Inverness in 1995 to design and manufacture glucose test strips, and design electronic meters for the global diabetes market.

The team at LifeScan Scotland designs all the products in the OneTouch® Brand of blood glucose monitoring systems (meters, test strips, control solutions, lancing devices and diabetes management software). The OneTouch® brand has two product families – Ultra® products, made from carbon technology, and Verio® products, made form precious metals technology. LifeScan Scotland is the primary OneTouch® test strip manufacturer for the global market.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Data Analyst/Statistical Programmer to join our Statistical Support team, based in Inverness. In this role, you will assist with the application of statistical theory and methods to collect, organize, interpret and summarize numerical data to provide usable information to the business to support projects and process improvements. You will also be vital in gathering results of statistical analyses, including information in the form of graphs, charts, and tables and providing printed versions for management presentations.

This is a great opportunity for either a recent graduate or someone with a few years' experience with Data Analysis to take the next step in their career within a global Medical Devices company. This is a permanent position, offering 37 hours per week.

As a Data Analyst/Statistical Programmer, your typical day may include:

• Providing daily support to the laboratory and attending lab meetings as a representative of Statistical Support.
• Generating production performance review reports and chairing meetings for all products.
• Organising large amounts of data for statistical modeling and graphical analysis
• Collecting data for processing by organizing information, checking for any inaccuracies and adjusting and weighting of raw data
• Leading investigation teams for performance issues at Lab and Clinical sites; Monitoring corrective actions through product performance meetings
• Assisting with the design of research projects that apply valid scientific techniques and utilizes information obtained from baselines or historical data.
• Generating automated statistical analysis routines

Providing support to the statisticians on site will see you engaged in varied, site-wide projects, offering you the perfect opportunity to develop your existing statistical and technical skills.

Qualifications :

BE VITAL:

To be part of this high performing team you will have great attention to detail, alongside
• Minimum of GCSE Education, Degree Qualified within a Mathematical/ Statistical discipline preferred
• Working knowledge of data analysis tools and techniques
• Proven experience in writing high quality reports
• Excellent communication, both written and verbal
• Acute attention to detail
• Exposure to computer programming and programming languages.
• Experience of SPSS, Minitab or similar Software package is desirable
• Database management experience is desirable
