Your Responsibilities

 

As a Senior Software Engineer in the John Deere Order Management (OM) program, you will get the rare opportunity to work on a large-scale global web application in a Fortune 500 company that is regularly ranked among the best companies to work for in the country. Employees joining our development teams will immediately be immersed in a culture where we emphasize personal and professional growth. This position will be on the OM Incentives team. In this position, you will be responsible for collaborating with other engineers to drive application development and design to meet the Incentives business requirements. The person filling this position will be among the most senior technical members of the team so there will be the added responsibility of setting the architectural direction of the team and collaborating with the senior engineers from the other OM teams to establish the architectural foundation of the entire program. In addition, you will

 

·  Design, develop, configure. test and implement the Incentives solution(s)
·  Provide technical solutions that position/enable product teams to build sustainable quality IT solutions
·  Analyze assignments and determine software specifications that must be fulfilled to achieve objectives
·  Collaborate with other relevant stakeholders and team members to ensure that features meet business needs
·  Follow industry-standard agile software design methodology for development and documentation
·  Assist in resolution of difficult information systems technical and functional issues
·  Execute necessary documentation, as directed or needed
·  Mentor junior developers and perform proper code reviews
·  Lead engineering practices alongside engineering manager

What Skills You Need

 

·  Extensive experience in the design, development, testing and integration of highly complex software solutions 
·  Experience modeling and communicating complex concepts in a manner that facilitates shared understanding and drives quality and execution 
·  Experience collaborating with multiple business stakeholders to provide information technology solutions
·  Ability to manage many competing priorities/requests in a fast-paced environment 
·  4 or more years of experience with Java web development with Spring and RESTful APIs and/or ABAP development with Rest/SOAP based services 
·  4 or more years of varied DB experience (e.g. DBS, SQL Server, MongoDB, Hibernate, NoSQL, MySql, DB2, SAP Hana) 
·  2 or more years of experience with TDD and acceptance test-driven development utilizing J-Unit, Cucumber, Worksoft Certify, ABAP Unit, SAP ATC, Cucumber, Cypress, Puppeteer Etc. 
·  1 or more years of experience in an Agile/Scrum team environment 

 

What Makes You Stand Out

Other areas of experience or interest that will help us place you on the right team include:

 

·  5 or more years of experience in implementation of major software programs leveraging change management 
·  Working understanding of design patterns and loosely coupled architectures 
·  Experience within Order Fulfillment, Order Processing, and/or SAP SD 
·  Experience configuring and implementing system execution/quality monitoring tools like AppDynamics, Grafana, Graylog, SAP Focused Run, SonarQube, nGeniusONE etc. 
·  Experience in cloud development with platforms like AWS or Azure 
·  1 or more years of experience with Swagger.io 

 

Education (or equivalent work experience)

 

·  Bachelor's degree in IT/Computer Science/Engineering
