Title: Sr. Quality Process Engineer 

Primary Location: Mexico (MX)  - Coahuila (MX-COA)  - Ramos Arizpe 

Function: Quality Engineering

Main Responsibilities:

* Fluent English proficiency is required
* Mentor engineers, technicians, welders and suppliers involved with the welding of John Deere ROPS weldments.
*Participate in and be called on to lead Durability Builds (DB), Limited Production Builds (LPB), new product launches and model year changes.
* Be highly aligned with current welding and quality processes for John Deere.
* Lead Design and Manufacturing groups on Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design Process &Assembly Review (DPAR), Functional Geometry Review (FGR) and Process Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (PFMEA).
* Investigate the use of and develop controls for new manufacturing processes and technology.
* Lead team(s) to address quality issues by utilizing Root Cause Analysis and Mistake Proofing by gathering and analyzing data. Working with design, tooling, advanced technologies and other functional areas to resolve issues.
* Identify and implement Continuous Improvements
* Be familiar with software tools to perform engineering functions. Examples are: Creo, Teamcenter Vis Suite, WeldPRO, SAP, Wplanner, C-projects, KOTEM Smart Profile, etc.
* Provide support and troubleshooting for ROPS welding operations utilizing your technical expertise.

 

Travel availability up to 50% of time.

 

What Skills You Need:

* Hands on knowledge of Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW).

* Experience in project management

* John Deere Enterprise Quality systems understanding and practical application

* Experience with robotic welding applications in a manufacturing environment. (ie: Fanuc and/or Motoman systems)

* Experience using quality software tools i.e. Kotem-SmartProfile, Statistica, Excel. Etc.

* Experience with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).

* Experience with quality, manufacturing weld processes and tooling.

* Ability to effectively interact and communicate with other Operator Station employees, supervisors, managers and other engineers globally.

What Makes You Stand Out:

* 2-5 yrs Experience working as engineering support for ROPS products.

* 1-5yrs Experience with Weld as a Process, welding strategy for John Deere.

* 1-3 yrs EPDP quality experience.

* 1-3 yrs Experience using SAP.

* 2-5 yrs Experience with Lean Manufacturing

 

Education (or equivalent experience):  

We need an excellent communicator, who thrives on solving problems and working in a team environment. Ideally, you will have 3+ years’ experience in welding with a Bachelor's Degree in Welding Engineering, Welding Engineering Technology or Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering with Welding Emphasis preferred.

 

This position is currently eligible for a telework and/or compressed workweek arrangement at the present time.  The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes, and remains subject to change.
