Your Responsibilities

 

As a Software Engineer in the John Deere Order Management (OM) program, you will get the rare opportunity to work on a large-scale global web application in a Fortune 500 company that is regularly ranked among the best companies to work for in the country. Employees joining our development teams will immediately be immersed in a culture where we emphasize personal and professional growth. This position will be on the OM Equipment team. In this position, you will be responsible for collaborating with other engineers to drive application development and design to meet the Equipment product business requirements for the Sales Center quote-to-cash solution. In addition, you will:

 

·  Work as an active member of the Equipment Agile Development Team
·  Participate in discussions with the team and extended functional teams to develop technical solutions to satisfy business requirements
·  Participate in a variety of efforts related to front and back-end development (full-stack)
·  Participate in the analysis and design of solutions to improve quality and performance
·  Assist with root cause analysis and resolution of production support issues
·  Mentor junior developers and perform proper code reviews

What Skills You Need 

 

·  3 or more years of experience with Java web deelopment with Spring and RESTful APIs
·  3 or more years of varied database experience (e.g. MongoDB, DB2, SAP HANA)
·  2 or more years of experience with JavaScript development utilizing REACT, Redux, Angular, HTML and CSS
·  2 or more years of experience with TDD and acceptance test-driven development utilizing J-Unit, Cucumber, Jest, Puppeteer, Enzyme, etc.
·  Experience in the design, development, testing and integration of highly complex software solutions
·  Experience with application development environment, database, data management and infrastructure capabilities and constraints
·  2 or more years of work experience in an Agile/Scrum team environment
·  Demonstrated ability to effectively coach and mentor junior developers

 

What Makes You Stand Out

Other areas of experience or interest that will help us place you on the right team include:

 

·  Experience with DevOps principles and lean development such as Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (GitHub, Jenkins, Active Control, etc.)
·  Experience configuring, implementing, and utilizing system execution/quality monitoring tools like AppDynamics, Grafana, Graylog, SonarQube, etc.
·  Experience in cloud development with platforms like AWS or Azure
·  Working understanding of design patterns and loosely coupled architectures (Swagger.io)
·  Experience working with John Deere dealers and sales and inventory management software

 

Education (or equivalent work experience)

 

·  Bachelor's degree in IT/Computer Science/Engineering
