Title: Software Engineer, Delivery Tools - 60294 
Your Responsibilities

As a Software Engineer, for the John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group (ISG-Urbandale) , you will improve internal software delivery by developing tools in collaboration with a small, agile team working in numerous technology stacks. In addition, you will:

·  Support and collaborate with internal software developers on a daily basis
·  Follow the Kanban Method for tiered work priorities and visibility
·  Use Agile XP practices - test-first, pairing, continuous integration
·  Participate in daily standup to triage issues and collaborate on feature development

What Skills You Need

·  1  or more years of experience in software analysis, design and coding
·  Experience that demonstrates effective communication skills needed to support end-users of off-the-shelf and custom software tools
·  Effective problem-solving skills which include ability to debug and develop in many, changing programming languages and technologies
·  1 year of Linux system administration or use of Linux as software development environment
·  Experience with Python, bash, groovy or similar scripting language

What Makes You Stand Out

·  Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g. Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure, Google Cloud)
·  Experience with Extreme Programming (XP) technical practices - test-driven development (TDD), continuous integration (CI), pairing
·  Knowledge of Linux system administration and virtualization (Ubuntu, Terraform, SaltStack, VMWare, Vagrant, docker, icinga)
·  Experience operating and optimizing web applications (with Tomcat, nginx, Artifactory), including monitoring and analytics
·  Knowledge of Continuous Integration tool configuration and operation (especially Jenkins)

Education (or equivalent work experience)

·  Bachelor's degree in an Engineering, Science or Technology related discipline
