Primary Location: United States (US) - Iowa (US-IA) - Waterloo 
Function: Manufacturing Engineering
Title: Part-Time Student - Manufacturing Engineering - Waterloo, IA - 53804 

Your Responsibilities

·  Provide support for group of manufacturing and/or quality engineers in components manufacturing division.
·  Duties could include the following manufacturing and quality related activities:
·  data extraction and analyzation
·  creating charts and graphs
·  updating manufacturing routings for new and current products
·  developing methods
·  troubleshooting manufacturing processes
·  support implementation of continuous improvement projects related to safety, quality, efficiency and delivery

What It Takes

·  Basic knowledge is required of one or more of the following:
·  lean manufacturing
·  machining processes such as turning, hobbing, shaping, grinding and milling
·  statistical process control and quality control
·  gauge and fixture design
·  Good understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel
·  Pursuing a four-year degree in Manufacturing engineering or Manufacturing engineering technology; Industrial Engineering or Technology; Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
·  Must be a full-time student at a local university or college (Hawkeye, UNI, Wartburg, etc.)
·  If currently attending a community college, must be planning to pursue a 4-year degree
·  Must be available to work a minimum of 12 months
·  Must be able to commute to the work location on a daily basis
·  Graduation date of December 2020 or later 
·  Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
·  16 - 20 hours/week during the academic year
·  35 - 40 hours/week during the summer semester

A strong candidate will also have

·  1 to 2 years' experience with exposure to the following fields:
·  Steel machining processes
·  Construction Engineering
