JLB Expertises is an independent company, established in Marseille in 1883.
Our main areas of expertise are agricultural and food products imported into and exported from West Africa.
We specialise in the following fields:
? Damage Survey
? Damage survey on breakbulk and bulk
? Risk prevention consultancy for port operations
? Quality control of soft commodities
? Warehouse inspection and stock controls
Our experience extends throughout West Africa, where we have been active in over 15 ports for 20 years.
We are now developing further and strengthening our expertise activity and damage survey services in cocoa importing countries in Europe and South-East Asia.
JLB Expertises works closely in Malaysia with a local partner specializing in cargo expertise. We are constantly meeting an increasing demand from our clients in Malaysia in terms of reporting, inspection, analysis and surveys. In view of this growing activity, we are now hiring a VIE in Malaysia
Job Description :
- Based in Pasir Gudang and under the supervision of the head office in Marseille, you will oversee the smooth running of the expertise surveys in Pasir Gudang and in the neighboring ports (Tanjung Pelepas, Johor Jahia, Port Klang). Your main tasks will include:
- Coordinating and organizing the expertise with all related parties
- Performing damage expertise in the receiving warehouses
- Overseeing unloading operations
- Following-up on sorting, reconditioning of damaged goods
- Organizing and monitoring salvage sales
- Inspecting warehouses and controlling stocks
- Liaising with our local partner, warehouse managers and other parties
- Drafting expertise reports
- Daily reporting to the head office in Marseille
A training period in Marseille / Amsterdam and or Abidjan is to be determined
After a short period, a commercial and market research component will be added to the job description (in a view to identifying new potential markets, projects and growth opportunities / defining and enforcing local operational and commercial strategies together with the board in Marseille)
Profile and required skills
- Agricultural engineer (a second Degree in Business School appreciated)
- Experience of at least 12 months in a similar environment
- Fluent in English
- Independent and autonomous
- Hard worker with management & leadership skills,
- Spirit of initiative and willing to take on responsibilities
- Very strong adaptability in a multicultural environment
- Methodical and rigorous with a high analytical spirit
- Computer skills: Microsoft Office Pack (Word, Excel, Power point & Access)
