WHAT TO EXPECT

 

Working from within the Electronics and Acoustics team, Telematics Control Units (TCUs) are an essential cross car line unit, interfacing on board and off board to complex systems.

 

As the Telematics On board Quality Lead Engineer, you’ll review available data to determine and track action plans for quality improvement topics. You’ll also support the Lead Telematics Engineer in the roll out of the new Telematics units, now called a Vehicle Domain Controllers, to ensure the lessons learnt are applied to the future architecture.

 

In this role, you’ll ensure all the quality and failure mode avoidance activities are in place and are regularly reviewed and updated, including links to the off board areas. You’ll facilitate and support the resolution of IQM projects within prescribed timescales; you’ll analyse all internal and external data sources to identify telematics issues; and you’ll develop projects to deliver containment and permanent corrective actions.

 

As well as ensuring that product changes are introduced robustly and efficiently, you’ll work with the Launch Team to ensure that current car issues are mitigated against on new vehicle launches, up to the point of handover to current car teams.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

As Telematics On-board Lead Quality Engineer, you’ll have a positive and self-sufficient working style – at home, in teams, or working alone. Alongside a good understanding of complex systems and networks (both on-car and off board networks), you’ll have strong problem solving skills, preferably with proven experience of Global 8D and/or 6--Sigma.

 

As well as being educated to degree level, you’ll be highly motivated, able to work with minimal supervision, with the ability to build strong relationships and trust with team members and experience of mobile data communications standards.
