WHAT TO EXPECT

 

Product Development Engineering is the key technical department for the product creation process, leading the engineering from concept to customer. There are three parts to it: Attribute Quality and Process, Vehicle Integrity Team and Vehicle Engineering Management. Working here, you’ll give our vehicles their unique characteristics. It's all part of creating vehicles that delight customers and set us apart from the competition.

 

Our software products run on embedded devices where implementation of resource management is equally as important as the features themselves. Processing, memory, and disk space are all fixed in an embedded device and every resource request should be carefully considered when building the application. Primarily our applications are written in C++. Other applications may vary in types of languages and frameworks or state diagram based IDEs against the development platform.

 

In your role as a Software Engineer, you’ll focus primarily on applications and the interactions between them within our vehicle software systems. Delivering the latest concepts requires a rigorous criteria for incoming software deliveries, and in order to develop such a criteria, the team requires a systems oriented software developer who understands the hardware and the software from end to end.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

You’ll own the development and implementation of scalable and robust in-vehicle embedded-oriented software applications including coding, documentation, design, and release according to the latest industry-proven software processes.

 

You’ll have the ability to create software that is modular, well documented, and with fully integrated diagnostics to minimize resolution time for reported defects and maximised code reuse. You’ll be able to ensure that base station software meets all production quality requirements through validation testing of functionality and performance, and you’ll create solutions to meet customer demands across a global market.
