WHAT TO EXPECT

Our Classic division is actively developing a global proposition to offer cars, services, parts, accessories, and experiences to customers of classic Jaguar and Land Rover products worldwide.

Classic recently announced E-Type Concept Zero, which introduces a whole new dimension for a wide range of Jaguar and Land Rover Classic vehicles.

This announcement signifies a strategic intent which is core to the Classic vision - “We future history”. For us that means building on our existing continuation and reborn programmes, to offer beautifully integrated cutting edge technology, which serves to enhance the usability, and therefore relevance of Jaguar and Land Rover Classic vehicles within the modern world.

The Classic Engineering department is rapidly expanding and has an opportunity in the field of software development. Join us as Software Engineer and you’ll have the chance to lead and develop activities on the exciting Electric E-Type project. You’ll be developing software and systems and integrating the hardware using a scalable platform approach to support the Electrification of a wide range of Jaguar and Land Rover Classic vehicles.

Providing technical leadership and ensuring high-quality project deliverables are met on time, you’ll also develop good working relationships with your key interfaces. Other responsibilities within your remit will include ensuring best-in-class quality processes, and leading specific cross-functional problem-solving activities.

Working from programme start to implementation, your focus will be on understanding the technical requirements for the delivery of the Electric E-Type vehicle software. You’ll identify key standards, design the requirements, and you’ll plan and execute software projects. In addition to this, you’ll lead the design and development of model-based control algorithms for a range of target domains, such as powertrain / driveline controls, chassis electronics, body electronics, power supply systems and others.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

A highly motivated individual with strong organisational and communication skills, you’ll ideally have a degree in engineering, computer science, or similar, though equivalent industry experience will be considered. Knowledge of automotive electrical architectures and protocols would be desirable, though we are also interested in hearing from strong candidates from other industries.

These will include requirements management, change and defect management, configuration management. Additionally you’ll have knowledge of version control, software development, and build and test environments, MISRA software requirements, robust diagnostics design and Fault tree analysis.

Experience in tools such as Matlab, Simulink, and Stateflow or equivalent will be essential.
