The Gaydon Proving Grounds plays a vital role in providing a safe facility in support of the development of JLR products. Consisting of 620 acres of land and approximately 35miles of roadways and other test facilities. The Gaydon facility is open 24/7. There is a dedicated team of Operations and Maintenance personnel who provide a service covering all aspects of operation, strategic development, Health & Safety and environmental issues. Also working closely with the JLR Business Protection team who oversee day to day Track Control operations.

 

Your role at this world-class testing area will be to provide advice and support to ensure safe operations are maintained at all times and the primary contact when working outside normal hours for proving ground users. You’ll oversee and develop the processes and procedures at the facility. This includes the development of the current access permit process, supporting the strategic development of the facility including supporting the design and installation of new facilities, coordination of events including departmental visits and photo shoots, and the Management of the on-site maintenance team along with external contractors. Working either a 2 shift pattern (6-2, 2-10) or a late day shift to support and ensure the Gaydon Proving Ground maintains safe operations at all times.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

Ideally you’ll have a background in vehicle engineering and will understand the tasks associated with managing a successful test facility. You’ll have exceptional IT skills , as well as proficiency with office suites and diary management software. You’ll understand health and safety protocols, and will have dealt with contractor registration processes and working compliance regulations.

 

A degree or relevant qualifications including NEBS or ILM is highly desirable and any project and event management skills from previous roles are advantageous in this position. An understanding of finance and budget management processes is also beneficial. Flexibility to working hours to cover Proving Ground activities including some weekend & shift changes as required.
