WHAT TO EXPECT

When it comes to the future, our Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) team is planning it today. Regularly working up to three years ahead of production, they help translate, plan and implement Product Development outputs into vehicle manufacture, transforming our ambitious plans into tangible and exhilarating realities.
From the luxuriously agile Jaguar F-TYPE to the innovative CX-17, our vehicles – famed for the revolutionary technologies they employ – are amongst some of the most desired and revered in the world today. Your constant challenge, working as part of our diverse and multi-skilled AME team, will be to ensure our iconic brands continue to captivate the world tomorrow.

Advanced Manufacturing Engineering, Trim and Final Facilities are responsible for the development and introduction of new and modified facilities associated with new model introductions and model year changes. This also includes the development of installation timing plans, Latest Indicated Cost Status and appropriate Health and Safety plans.

In this role as a Manufacturing Engineer you will be tasked with expanding the focus as far upstream as possible in order to ensure that the Final Assembly Facilities of our global manufacturing base are aligned to long and mid-term manufacturing and product strategy plans.  These are often 4 years in advance of Mass Production (Job#1). You’ll support this activity by focusing on the planning and delivery of facility solutions for new model introductions within Final Assembly, engaging with the Design and Engineering teams to collaborate on product design solutions that deliver the required capability and manufacturing plant standards. You'll create detailed facility timing and cost plans in line with manufacturing launch strategies and Jaguar Land Rover procurement requirements to ensure projects are delivered on time and budget..

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

To be successful in this role, you’ll have a collaborative approach which fosters co-operation and trust within a team working environment. You’ll have a positive impact on colleagues and other stakeholders and actively seek out opportunities for personal or team development. You’ll be seeking to influence improvements, be proactive in leading on own issues and showing passion and energy for team's work.  Furthermore it is essential that you are open to giving and receiving feedback in a constructive manner.

This role is of a strategic nature, so having a logical, methodical long term approach along with an understanding of the methodologies behind project planning is key.  You’ll join us with a thorough understanding and application of AME Procedures and Documentation and of Health and Safety procedures, including construction design and manager (CDM) 2015, Method Statements, Risk Assessments and Ecoplus (ECPL).  You’ll have an understanding of Design for Assembly principles and experience in a product launch at an assembly plant. Having the Association of Project Management (APMP) experience is desirable as is experience and ability in practical problem avoidance / solving (Six Sigma, 8D, 5Y, FMEA) and proficiency in the following key tool sets: AIMs; AutoCAD; Vis Mockup/TCe; MS Office suite, SAP.  You’ll also have financial control and procurement experience.

BENEFITS

Bring all this to the home of premium innovation, and you’ll find the opportunities to further your career with a world-class team, a discounted car purchase and lease scheme for you and your family, membership of a competitive pension plan and a performance-related bonus scheme. All this and more makes Jaguar Land Rover the perfect place to continue your journey.
