WHAT TO EXPECT

With your in-depth knowledge of Powertrain assembly, combined with experience of high volume facility installation, project management, capability validation, commissioning and product launch, you’ll join our Electric Powertrain Manufacturing Engineering (PTME) department as a Process Engineer.

 

The department are responsible for the development and introduction of new and modified processes and facilities associated with new model introductions and model year changes, within Assembly and Test to enable future electrification developments in support of the Jaguar Land Rover range of vehicles. 

 

As a Process Engineer you’ll utilise your knowledge to develop and implement assembly and test methodologies and facilities for Electric Drive units, to deliver the safety, quality delivery and cost objectives. You’ll be responsible for providing feasibility statements for Product Development designs to suit manufacturing build requirements and ensure a robust process quality planning including build simulations and FMEA’s. Support virtual build events and physical builds at workshops and communicate current issues to relevant teams to ensure all receive maximum exposure and are dealt with effectively to assist, improve and sustain product quality.

 

As programmes progress through the planning and implementation phases, you’ll work closely with Product Development Engineers, Facility vendors and Suppliers to ensure that components and process designs meet our world class quality and efficiency standards. Drive continuous improvement by establishing a specific course of action, and appropriately manage time, tasks, budgets and resources to ensure a first class service to our customer base. 

 

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

You’ll have extensive experience of high volume facility installation, project management, capability validation, commissioning and product launch within a Manufacturing environment, combined with an understanding and experience of Powertrain assembly such as IC Engines, Gearboxes or EDU. You’ll also have a proven track record of project management and ideally educated to Degree level in Manufacturing Systems or a similar engineering discipline. Candidates with HNC / HND and the relevant experience would be considered. 

 

You’ll be proficient with use of PC Systems & Packages, and have awareness of Process Authoring Tool (GSPAS), simulation and virtual toolsets i.e. Digital-buck, Process Simulate and CATIA V5 and Byteworx’s. You’ll have good experience and understanding of testing protocols with an ability to analyse and interpret data output from test. You’ll be a strong communicator, both written & verbally and have the confidence to present your information in front of groups of people, including Senior Management. 

 

Be an effective leader with the ability of coordinating large groups of people through complex processes in a fast paced and demanding environment, and the ability to implement change effectively and ensure efficient running of the operation with the ability to use planning and timing tools to deliver on-going projects across national and international Jaguar Land Rover site.
