Our Whitley based tool room produces prototype components and fixtures used in the manufacturing of various vehicle builds.  The department operates a broad range of metalworking processes including CNC Machining, Stamping and Sheet Metal Fabrication.  The CAD design group use engineering CAD data to develop tool and fixture designs as well as process plans which drive shop floor manufacturing processes. This position will provide you with an exciting opportunity to develop your engineering skills and deliver CAD design proposals for prototype press tooling, fixtures and other manufacturing operations.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

To operate successfully as a Tooling CAD Designer you'll need to demonstrate experience of a broad range of metalworking processes as used in a prototyping environment. You'll need technical knowledge of press tool design and operation combined with a proven ability to work with CAD data. At Jaguar Land Rover it's essential that you have good communication, interpersonal and presentation skills as well as strong IT literacy with the ability to analyse and present data.  You'll also require knowledge of project time line management and ideally a relevant degree or equivalent experience.
