WHAT TO EXPECT

As a Metrologist, you’ll join our Dimensional Control and Build Integrity (DCBI), Department of Body in White (BIW) Prototype Build Operations team. You’ll work un-supervised within this highly skilled team. You’ll analyse measurement data and create appropriate reports that enable informed decision making, working closely with other team members and fellow associates as required.

 

You’ll be prepared to work across multiple Jaguar Land Rover plants and, where necessary and within reason, be flexible with overtime and working hours.

 

You’ll communicate current issues to relevant teams, to ensure all receive maximum exposure and are dealt with effectively. This will help us to improve and sustain product quality. You’ll also drive continuous improvement by establishing a specific course of action, and appropriately manage time, tasks and resources.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Alongside a completed relevant indentured or advanced modern apprenticeship, we would expect you to have extensive experience and a thorough understanding of Coordinate Measurement Machines (CMM). You’ll also bring with you previous experience of metrology, CMM operating and programming with various CMM equipment to include Romer/Faro Arm. Previous experience with data collection, dimensional auditing and quality is desirable.

 

You’ll understand the principles of coordinate systems and alignment, with the ability to interpret dimensional data. You’ll be an effective team player, with good interpersonal and coordination skills and the ability to work in a fast paced, demanding environment. You’ll also be enthusiastic, with excellent quality awareness and the drive to deliver a world class product.
