Job description

Location : Halewood

Salary: £37,284

An ever-evolving heritage. A truly exciting future. Two of the world’s most iconic brands. Jaguar Land Rover is revered across the globe. Continually pushing the boundaries of innovation and redefining the benchmark for excellence, we set the standards others want to follow. We want to keep it that way too. Which is where you join the journey.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

As a Maintenance Craftsman working within the Trim and Final department at Halewood you’ll be expected to use a wide range of electrical and/or mechanical knowledge to investigate and resolve key facility issues. Your tasks will involve working in a fast paced environment carrying out both preventative and predictive maintenance on current facilities. You’ll be required to work as part of a skilled team to ensure key metrics such as OPR and technical availability are met.   Analysing data, a high standard of fault finding and good communication skills are some of the key attributes required for this role. You’ll be requested to attend meetings with other departments to help facilitate / deliver new facilities. Flexibility is essential to the role as you may be expected to work additional overtime to meet both production and training requirements. Candidates must be prepared to work a variety of different shift patterns in line with business needs. Candidates must be proactive and be able to work independently.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

As an experienced maintenance craftsman you’ll need to have served a recognised certified apprenticeship in a mechanical, electrical or mechanical/electrical discipline. If invited to interview candidates will be required to provide indentures, as proof of attainment. Working in a fast paced environment with a good understanding of preventative maintenance systems (TEM’s) is essential. Safety is key at JLR, therefore, all applicants will be expected to have some knowledge of ECPL procedures (additional training will be provided). Confined space and working at heights are key to business needs and again training will be provided. Exceptional fault finding skills with the ability to read electrical / mechanical drawings is a key attribute to the role. Some software / robotics knowledge is again desired but not essential.

In relation to education, a HNC / Degree would be preferable but again is not essential as long as the candidate has the relevant experience of working as a maintenance craftsman.

The ability to work both independently and as part of a team is essential, therefore exceptional communication skills are highly desired. To provide our customers with a quality product candidates must have some knowledge of quality measuring tools used in the manufacturing environment. Quality and FTT can also be affected by poor housekeeping, therefore, candidates must be heavily focused on 5s as cleaning is inspection.

BENEFITS

Bring all this to the home of premium innovation, and you will find the opportunities to further your career with a world-class team, a privilege car purchase scheme, membership of a competitive pension plan and paid holiday entitlement. This and more makes Jaguar Land Rover the perfect place to continue your journey.
