As the Material Planning & Logistics (MP&L) Project Engineer you’ll work closely with the Lead Logistics Provider (DHL) to develop and execute the Logistics Flow & Automation Strategy for Solihull Logistics Operating Centre (LOC), along with other facilities and operations as required to support international and local programmes.

 

You’ll also assist in the further development of the strategy for MP&L solutions and facilities, including the advancement of automation opportunities to bring improved efficiency and value to the MP&L function. In addition you’ll benchmark best practice in logistics across a range of industries to identify applicable opportunities in areas of waste, and generate solution ideas to eliminate waste.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

You'll have proven logistical experience in Supply Chain IT Solution design and execution, coupled with the ability to quickly understand and challenge logistical processes. You’ll be familiar with logistics automation systems (IT/PLC) and have demonstrable project management experience. In addition, you’ll have experience of process improvement along with analytical skills and statistical ability.

 

You’ll be an individual, who can work independently, is results driven, demonstrating tenacity, drive and perseverance with the ability to deliver operational plans in a complex, highly demanding environment. Ideally, you’ll be degree qualified or be studying towards a degree in a relevant discipline, though this isn’t essential.
